Bright Future comprehensive sustainability education program for Levels 1–4 announces Bright Buddy, Australia’s first secure online sustainability forum for teachers and students, at the School Resources Expo.
A unique tool to build purposeful relationships, share stories, files, photos and create global community, Bright Buddy makes it easy for teachers to show young students how to use the amazing power ICT puts at their fingertips purposefully, to ‘save the world.’
While becoming a virtual superhero may sound far-fetched, leaders in the fast developing field of school ICT insist children need to learn to use the power of online communication with a sense of real purpose.
Bright Buddy forum co-founder Tomas Molloy said “Bright Buddy empowers teachers and students to not only showcase their school’s work in sustainability but also network with others to tap their knowledge, experience and importantly build relationships and a real sense of community.
“The inspiration to keep building a sustainable future rests on a sense of connection with others working together around Australia and the world and Bright Buddy facilitates that.”
As teachers and students communicate they utilise key curriculum skills and create a library of case studies, knowledge and experience for others to tap into any time. It also gives teachers and students opportunity to actively help others in their sustainability initiatives.”
